Mr. Carter was from Clarkston, MI. He was killed in action on 6/13/1968 in South Vietnam at the age of 21. Mr. Carter was a Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army, 174th Aviation Company, 14th Aviation Battalion. Mr. Carter was piloting a UH-1D helicopter that was lost during a command and control mission over Quang Nai Province, South Vietnam. There were no survivors. He was listed as missing in action until his remains were recovered and identified on 8/31/1995. He is now buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Carter left behind a mother, father, four brothers and a sister.
