Oakland County Sheriff's Office Post 9/11 Military Service Veterans
Deputy Bethany Sizemore

I have 13 years of service and am currently a 1LT in the U.S Army Reserves, and am currently assigned to the 948th Forward Surgical Team in Southfield.
I was mobilized and deployed from Feb 2003 to April 2004 with a Combat Support Hospital out of Milwaukee, WI. I was stationed in Bagram, Afghanistan. I was a Staff Sergeant and a medic in Afghanistan.
I was a medic and participated in several medical missions throughout Afghanistan to remote villages. I also served as a Task Force Battle Captain responsible for medical operations oversight of 12 U.S Army & Air Force units in 4 locations throughtout Afghanistan theatre of operations. Oversight included (troops in contact, coordinating medevac flights & updating patient status). I worked with the U.S Military Police training female Afghani women police/security/vehicle procedures prior to their country's elections. I also served as a Task Force Personnel NCO (Non commissioned Officer).
The Military, its values and the people who support the military have helped shape who I am today. From all the different people I have met (especially the children) all over the world to the life lessons learned, helps to keep the focus of what is really important. I can not express enough gratitude to the Sheriff's Office, co-workers, service personnel, families and friends who have and continue to work hard and support us...thank you.
