Douglas S. Molinar

Captain Douglas S. Molinar heads the Patrol Services Division of the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. He has 31 years of service with the Sheriff's Office, and was a Lieutenant from 1988 until he was promoted to Captain in September 2003.

Captain Molinar has commanded Patrol Services, Detective Bureau, Rochester Hills SubStation, Corrective Services, and the Brown Road Facility.

Captain Molinar has a B.A. from Oakland University, M.A. from University of Detroit, is a Graduate of the FBI National Academy, and is also a graduate of the United States Secret Service Dignitary Protection School.

Awards received include:

  • Two-time recipient of "Officer of the Year Award" Oakland County Sheriff's Office
  • Officer of the Year, Clawson-Troy Elks Club
  • Five Sheriff Distinguished Service Awards
  • Other awards received from the FBI, Secret Service, Michigan State Police and other police agencies
