Michael G. McCabe
Undersheriff
Undersheriff Michael G. McCabe started with the Sheriff's Office in 1977 as a Road Patrol Deputy. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1989, Lieutenant in 1991, Captain in 1993, Chief of Staff in 1999, and Undersheriff in March of 2003.
In that role, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff's Office and all Divisions, acting as the Sheriff's Chief of Staff and helping to oversee a $130 million budget with over 1200 employees. He has worked every Division of the Sheriff's Office during his 31 year career. Some of his duties include public information officer, labor contracts and negotiations, all new hires, lawsuits, and chief advisor to Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard.
A 1977 graduate of Michigan State University with a B. A. in Criminal Justice, Undersheriff McCabe is also a member of:

- Auto Theft Prevention Authority (past board member 2002-2007)
Undersheriff McCabe is currently the Chairman of the Consortium Committee of the Courts and Law Enforcement Management Information System (CLEMIS), a multi-county data sharing consortium recognized by the Department of Justice as the single largest and most successful law enforcement consortium in the U.S.A.
