In Oakland County, technology and education go hand-in-hand. Through Automation Alley, our business and education communities work together to create training, resources and support needed to prepare people for future careers that will undoubtedly be dependent on technology literacy.

State-Level Programs and Information:
Information technology training initiatives.
Technology planning is federally mandated for local school agencies seeking technology funding from federal programs, including the Universal Service Fund (E-Rate) and No Child Left Behind legislation. As a result, technology plans must meet federally established criteria and be approved by the state. In addition, the State Technology Plan (2000) has specific recommendations relating to planning and implementation that need to be accomplished.
Other:
Internet2 is a consortium being led by 200 universities working in partnership with industry and government to develop and deploy advanced network applications and technologies, accelerating the creation of tomorrow's Internet. Internet2 is recreating the partnership among academia, industry and government that fostered today´s Internet in its infancy.
