Mary A. Larkin
Deputy Prosecutor - Administration
As the Deputy Prosecutor - Administration, Mary Larkin is a member of the management team (Prosecuting Attorney, Chief Deputy Prosecutor, and three Deputy Prosecutors) which oversees the entire operation of the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office. She meets regularly with the management team to discuss and develop office policy and procedures, and to make staffing and major case recommendations.
Ms. Larkin is directly responsible for the operations of the Victim Services Section. In this capacity, she ensures that crime victim's rights are fully protected, and that victims are afforded compassionate and informative assistance by a Victim Advocate during all stages of their case. Additionally, Ms. Larkin oversees the Parole Appeal Section. She determines when an appeal is warranted of a Michigan Department of Corrections decision to release an inmate early when the inmate continues to pose a serious danger to the community. Ms. Larkin also oversees Training for staff members, police departments and the community, the Executive Staff Attorney, the Case Records Division, Office Technology and Personnel.
Ms. Larkin earned her law degree from the University of Detroit Law School in Detroit in 1988. She graduated from Michigan State University with degrees in Social Work and Psychology in 1982. Ms. Larkin worked as a Victim Advocate with the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office from 1982 through 1986.
Mary Larkin was appointed as an Assistant Oakland County Prosecutor in 1988. Among areas of concentration, Ms. Larkin specialized in the prosecution of child sexual assault cases for five years.
