Economic Recovery Section

The Economic Recovery Section investigates criminal activities and identifies assets that have been acquired through drug dealing and other criminal offenses.

Prosecutors and Investigators working in this section are highly trained and experienced in following far-reaching  paper trails to prove forfeiture cases.

The objective of asset forfeiture is to take the profit out of crime by seizing assets acquired through criminal transactions.

State law requires that prosecutors and police departments use all forfeited money to fund future criminal investigations and enhance drug awareness efforts in the community.

This approach results in shifting some of the financial burden to fund law enforcement initiatives from taxpayers onto criminals.
