Under the direction of Prosecutor David G. Gorcyca, the Assistant Prosecutors of the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office conduct hundreds of trials involving crimes of murder, rape, armed robbery, home invasion, narcotics and child abuse.
Each year we:
review over 20,000 warrant requests
issue 25,000 - 30,000 subpoenas
prepare over 12,000 General Informations (charging documents)
issue over 2,000 bench warrants
file over 800 briefs with the appellate courts, and
receive and handle approximately 2,000 pieces of correspondence weekly
The Office is organized into the Administration, Litigation, Appellate and Warrants and Investigations Divisions. Each division reflects a primary legal function, an individual court responsibility, or particular type of case. This arrangement permits specialized attention by staff attorneys with specific expertise.
