Over one-third of the cats received at the center are feral cats. Feral, or wild cats, are not adoptable as family pets because of their lack of human socialization. The center works diligently to find alternative placements for feral cats, with our barn buddy and Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program.
Alley Cat Allies offers a thorough explanation of the trapping process and tips on how to plan a TNR effort in your area. If the cats in question involve your neighbors, we recommend that you discuss TNR and its long term benefits before you begin.
