Volunteers are an invaluable asset to our shelter animals! They are crucial to the helping our furry friends find permanent homes. Volunteers assist with events, work at the shelter, and most importantly, keep the animals socialized. We could not do what we do without YOU!

There are several ways to get involved at the shelter! Read through our positions to find out which one is right for you!
Dog Walkers: Volunteers who work as dog walkers help keep the dogs exercised and social! Before beginning to volunteer, you must attend a doggy 101 training. These trainings are offered on a monthly basis, and are always on a Saturday. Volunteer training class is scheduled for Saturday, June 8 at 10:30am. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required. Any volunteer under 18 must be accompanied with a parent/guardian at ALL times and cannot physically walk the dogs. You must be at least 12 years old to be a dog walker.
Cat Comforters: Volunteers who work as cat comforters help keep cats socialized and content in the shelter environment. Before beginning to volunteer, you must attend at kitty 101 training. This training is offered monthly, on a Saturday. Our next Cat Comforter training is Saturday, June 15 at 2pm. Space is limited, so pre-registration is required. Any volunteer under 18 must be accompanied with a parent/guardian at ALL times. You must be at least 12 years old to be a cat socializer.
________________________________________________________________________Do you need community service for high school or college? Work as a Shelter Greeter or Tour Guide!
Shelter Greeters will greet customers, help assist them with locating different areas of the shelter, provide basic customer service, and directing them to the front desk for further questions. This shift is 2-3 days, 3-4 hours per shift.
Tour Guides assist with giving shelter tours, or conducting presentations offsite. Shift varies, mostly Saturdays.
Other ways to get community service hours? Consider hosting a donation drive, sponsorship campaign or fundraiser!
