Technical Assistance for Main Street® Oakland County Communities

Phases of Technical Assistance for selected MSOC "Communities in Good Standing" are as follows:

(a "Community in Good Standing" is one which follows all provisions in the MSOC Letter of Agreement and which is certified as a National Main Street® Community at least one out of three years after the third year in the MSOC Program)

Phase I-IV Annual Services to All MSOC Communities:

 Main Street® Manager Orientation Day: 1 Day
 Main Street® 101 (training for the Four-Point Committees & Main Street® Manager): 2 Days
 Annual Evaluation/Certification by NMSC & MSOC: 2 Days on-site
 Downtown Design Studio Resource
 Design Assistance Program
 National Main Street® Conference Travel (when 6 hours or less, with sponsor)
 Topical Workshops on the Main Street "Four Points"
 Michigan Main Street® Program Workshops
 Local, County, State & National Networking & Publicity
 Awards & Recognition
 On-going technical assistance as available
 Historic Preservation planning assistance as available
 Project financial packaging assistance by appointment

Phase I: Start-up/Transition Years 1-3
 (In addition to the annual services noted above)

 Needs assessment by NMSC & MSOC: 2 Days on-site (Year 1)
 Resource team by NMSC (with professionals for each of the Four Points): 3.5 Days on-site (Year 1)
 Technical visit by NMSC & MSOC: 1 or 2 Days on-site (Each Year)
 National Main Street® Conference Scholarships (2 per community - Each Year)

Phase II: Catalyst/Growth Years 4-7

 Resource team
 Technical visit by MSOC: 1 or 2 Days on-site (1 every 2 Years)
 National Main Street® Conference Scholarship (1 per community - Each Year)

Phase III: Growth/Maintenance Years 8-15
(in addition to the annual services noted above)®

 Resource team by NMSC (with professionals for each of the Four-Points): 3.5 Days on-site (1 every 6 Years)
 Technical visit by MSOC or MSOC and County Planning Group: 1 or 2 Days on-site (1 every 3 Years)

Phase IV: Maintenance/Re-commitment Years 16 & Beyond
(in addition to the annual services noted above)

 Resource team by MSOC & the Oakland County Planning Group: 3.5 Days on-site (1 every 3 Years)
 Technical visit by NMSC & MSOC: 1 or 2 Days on-site (1 every 3 Years)
