Revitalization and reuse of buildings are "Green" initiatives. All of our historic downtowns contain buildings with one, two or more upper floors. While some have been reused, many remain vacant and unproductive. These three workshops will focus on the reuse of upper floors, by looking at examples from other parts of the county, destroying code myths, learning about new codes and a variety of financial resources to make projects possible. While the intent of this workshop series has been to help the mix use development of our traditional downtowns, the content of these workshops can assist any and all who are or are considering working with an existing building.
Attendees will receive practical information. Specific case studies will be reviewed. A variety of professionals (building officials, architects, financial experts, designers, mixed use developers, construction engineers, preservationists and economic developers) will provide useful details. Come and join us at these informative sessions with national, state and local speakers that can help your downtowns reach their full economic potential
