Economic Impact of Oakland County's Green Infrastructure
A Green Infrastructure network of open spaces, natural areas and waterways produces economic benefits for communities, businesses, and residents, and ultimately provides a framework for sustainable development. Oakland County Planning & Economic Development Services (PEDS) has approached the topic of estimating the impact that green infrastructure has on the local economy in several ways. Presented below are two summary products in addition to the full reports that were generated through research projects related to this topic. |

Full Reports: PEDS worked with Michigan State University's Land Policy Institute to estimate the impact that proximity to green infrastructure amenities (e.g., lakes, recreational lands, etc.) has on residential property values.
