Business Development Group

The Business Development Group provides services to enhance the economic base of Oakland County by supporting existing area businesses and attracting new companies. We also recognize the value of entrepreneurial development within our community.

The group is comprised of the Economic Development Team, the Business Assistance Center and the Export Assistance Center.

The Economic Development Team is focused on business attraction, retention and expansion. The team aggressively pursues opportunities to attract new national and international businesses to Oakland County through an active marketing program. The team participates in trade shows/marketing missions resulting in many leads. The Economic Development Team assists in generating millions of dollars in new investment for the County, in addition to the creation of thousands of new jobs and the retention of thousands of others each year.

The Business Assistance Center helps business owners develop and build successful businesses in Oakland County. The Business Assistance Center provides workshops, counseling and seminars to business owners and entrepreneurs.

The Export Assistance Center is an economic development program in co-operation with the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Commercial Services. The export staff is housed with the office of the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, thus comprising the Pontiac Export Assistance Center (PEAC). The PEAC's mission is to increase sales of small and medium sized Oakland County businesses through export.
