Patterson Takes Oath of Office for Sixth Term as County Executive

Pontiac, Michigan -- Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson took the oath of office today for his sixth four-year term as the county's chief executive officer. He was sworn-in by Clerk/Register of Deeds Bill Bullard. His sixth term begins Jan. 1.

"Oakland County leads Michigan in job attraction, technology, fiscal management, and quality of life," Patterson said. "The next four years of my administration will focus on continuing to innovate in these areas."

Patterson, who was first elected county executive in 1992, took the oath of office in the lobby of the Executive Office Building. Members of Patterson's staff and several county commissioners were present to congratulate him. Chief Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson and Deputies County Executive Robert Daddow, Phil Bertolini, Ken Rogers, and Matthew Gibb were also sworn-in today.

This marks Patterson's 10th term of public service to the residents of Oakland County. He served four terms as prosecutor from Jan. 1, 1973 - Dec. 31, 1988.
