Patterson Prepares for Annual State of the County Speech

​Pontiac, Michigan -- Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will deliver his 2012 State of the County address at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, at Centerpoint Marriott in Pontiac. His annual speech will focus on economic development, technology, budget and quality of life issues.

"This is a great time to live and work in Oakland County," said Patterson. "My State of the County speech will underscore why Oakland County is Michigan's leader."
Oakland County residents and others will be able to hear Patterson's remarks live on WDET-FM (101.9) at 7 p.m. February 8. Or, they can watch a live stream on the internet by going to; there will be a link on the homepage. In addition, highlights of the speech as it happens will be found on Brooks' Twitter account, @brookspatterson.

As Patterson puts the finishing touches on his annual address, WDET-FM is asking which three topics are most important to its Oakland County listeners. Just go to and click on the State of the County link. WDET-FM host Craig Fahle will utilize that listener input as he interviews Patterson live at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 9, following the State of the County.
"I believe the economy remains the number one issue for Oakland County residents. From what I can see, the future is bright," said Patterson.
