Pontiac, Michigan -- Oakland County, Michigan native and presidential candidate Mitt Romney sent a get well message today to Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson while at the Long Family Orchard, Farm & Cider Mill in Commerce Township.
"Our prayers go out to him (Brooks)," Romney said. "Please include Brooks, his family, and his driver in your prayers."
Romney brought a giant get well card for Patterson for the crowd to sign. Following the event, Romney and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan also signed the card.
Chief Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson said he knows Patterson and his family appreciated Romney's recognition.
"Brooks and Romney have known each other a long time," Poisson said. "For Romney to take a moment out of his very busy schedule to wish Brooks and Jim well I know means the world to them."
This is not the first time Romney has acknowledged Patterson. Earlier this year while giving a speech in Birmingham, Romney said he wants to run the nation like Patterson runs Oakland County.
Oakland County Commissioner Christine Long is the owner/operator of the Long Family Orchard, Farm & Cider Mill.
