Pontiac, Michigan -- There is no change in Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson's status as of Sunday, Aug. 12. He continues to recover from accident-related orthopedic injuries at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. No date has been set for Patterson's discharge.
The Patterson family and the County Executive's Office would like to thank the news media for quickly getting out the word to stop sending get-well flowers to the hospital and instead make a donation to The Brooksie Way.
The outpouring of support for Patterson continues. Hundreds of social media messages wishing Patterson a speedy recovery have been posted to Patterson's social media accounts. For instance, Lisa Foster (@Whatzit2u) tweeted this morning, "I hope you are recovering quickly & released soon sending my prayers to you & your family for speedy recovery!"
"The prayers and words of support that continue to roll in have buoyed Brooks, his family, and staff," said Chief Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson. "Thank you to everyone for sending their positive thoughts. They help more than you could imagine."
