Three Oakland County Schools to Receive OakGreen Award

What:  
Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and Oakland Schools Superintendent Dr. Vickie L. Markavitch will present three Oakland County schools with the OakGreen School Award for being the top environmentally responsible schools in the county to kick-off the 2011 OakGreen Summit.
Oakland County Grounds Division will also receive an award from Michigan State University for its turfgrass management program.
The 2011 OakGreen Summit will focus on the role of local governments in:
       • buildings and fleet energy efficiency
       • renewable energy planning and zoning
       • plug-in vehicle readiness
       • building energy codes
       • water economy
       • reducing vehicle miles traveled

8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011.

Oakland Schools Building, 2111 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, Michigan.
