Patterson Steps it up at the Palace

What:
Join Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson at the Palace of Auburn Hills to kick off the 8th Annual Count Your Steps pedometer walking and nutrition program to fight childhood obesity. Third and fourth graders will join Patterson at this action-packed event: Kids will jump rope, hula hoop, and dance with Automotion. They also will brave the obstacle course sponsored by Oakland County Parks and walk almost 2 miles around the Palace concourse.

Since the program's inception, more than 156,000 Oakland County third and fourth grade students have logged a total of 15 billion steps, or 300 times around the Earth!
 
When:
10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 
 
Where:
The Palace of Auburn Hills, 6 Championship Drive, Auburn Hills. The kick off will be at the Comcast Pavilion/North Entrance.
