David J. Schreiber, Chief Strategist, Oakland County Economic Development and Community Affairs, received a President's Award from the Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) at the organization's recent annual conference in Bellaire, Michigan. The MEDA President's Award is given for "Outstanding Contributions to MEDA."
"Oakland County's strong business climate is due, in large part, to the efforts of David Schreiber and my economic development team. He's an asset to Oakland County and to our business community," said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.
Schreiber has been with Oakland County for over twenty-four years serving in various economic development roles. Currently, he is responsible for Oakland County's newest economic development initiative, Medical Main Street. Schreiber has been a member of MEDA for over 20 years and has received numerous awards for his contributions including two prior President's Awards and two previous Mike Conboy Professional Development Awards for leadership in the area of education for the Association. Schreiber has also received the Economic Developer of the Year Award from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. His volunteer work in MEDA includes participating on the Annual Meeting Committee, chairing the Education Committee, sitting on the Board of Directors as well as providing insight to the Incentives Taskforce. Currently, he is the chairman of MEDA's Advocacy Committee.
