Patterson to Host Grand Opening of Michigans First Green Airport Terminal

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will host the grand opening of Michigan's first "green" terminal at Oakland County International Airport (OCIA). He will be joined by Kirk Steudle, Michigan's transportation director and dozens of other dignitaries. There will be a ceremony outside followed by an opportunity to tour the terminal.

OCIA's new terminal features leading-edge "green" technology such as wind and solar energy, geothermal heating and cooling, LED and fluorescent lighting, advanced insulation, electric car charging stations, and a living wall, among others.

This invitation-only event will precede the public's opportunity to visit OCIA's new "green" terminal the following Sunday at the annual OCIA Open House and Air Show. For more details on that event, go to

Oakland County International Airport, Main Entrance, 6500 Highland Road, Waterford, Michigan. Media parking will be in the new terminal's East Lot.
