Pontiac, Michigan -- Kyle and Sabrina may live on opposite ends of Oakland County, but they will come together the weekend of July 16th-17th to represent The Rainbow Connection at the 12th Annual "Quake On The Lake" Inboard Hydroplane National Championships and LIVE Concerts on Pontiac Lake in White Lake and Waterford townships. The Rainbow Connection - supported by "Quake On The Lake" proceeds - makes dreams come true for Michigan children with life threatening illnesses.
Eight-year-old Kyle of White Lake Township's wish is to visit Disney World. Kyle has Lymphoma, but that does not hold him back from an active lifestyle. While in Florida, this third grader plans to go fishing. He also enjoys playing hockey and soccer.
Ninth grader Sabrina of Troy looks forward to her wish of traveling to Vancouver, British Colombia this fall to view a taping of her favorite show "Supernatural." While there, this 13-year-old who has an autoimmune disorder plans to do some major sightseeing of the Vancouver area. Otherwise, Sabrina loves to read, write, play on the computer and spend time with friends.
"The Quake on the Lake's mission is to create an exciting summertime destination for the region while raising money for local charities," said Dale Hampshire, Quake On The Lake chairman. "When you become a fan of the Quake, not only do you enjoy world record, high speed racing on the water, you make a difference by supporting many wonderful organizations."

Quake On The Lake will feature Rare Earth and The Verve Pipe with special guest The Infatuations among other recording artists. Other acts taking to the stage include The Magic Bus, The Detroit Groove Kings, 4D – All-Girl Rock Band, The Strict and The Excluders. Sunday is Country Music Day at "Quake On The Lake" with Shotgun Willie, Billy Craig, Terrie Lea and The Mustangs and Bullhonkey Deluxe.
The Verve Pipe will perform a family show "Calling All Kids" at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16. In addition to great music, the Family Fun Zone returns this year for kids of all ages. It includes bouncers and slides, a rock climbing wall and face painting. There will also be exhibits and great food.
"Quake on the Lake" regular admission at the gate is $10 per adult; $5 for children ages 5-12 years; and children 4 and under are free. Gate admission includes viewing the national championship racing and the entertainment. Pit passes are available for $10 to get a close-up look at the race boats and meet the race teams.

for $25. The VIP concert tickets will give special access to a preferred concert seating area which includes a private bar and restrooms as well as gate entry into the "Quake on the Lake."
The 12th Annual "Quake On The Lake" will host the Inboard Hydroplane Championships, which return to Michigan after 42 years. More than 100 teams from across North America are expected to compete for the coveted National Championship crown.
There will be nine different race classes with speeds ranging from 90 mph to 175 mph on the straightaways. "Quake On The Lake" has set 17 American Power Boat Association records in five racing classes over the past decade, making Pontiac Lake one of the fastest one mile race courses in the nation.
