Waterford, Michigan -- Oakland County, Michigan's Medical Main Street has created the state's first medical device manufacturing directory to help global medical device companies find suppliers in Michigan.
"The world knows Metro Detroit as a strong place for manufacturing in automotive and in defense," Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said. "Very few know about the strong base we have here in medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing."
The directory - compiled by the Department of Economic Development & Community Affairs - has an easy-to-read chart that identifies companies by manufacturing processes such as injection molding, electronics or precision cutting. It includes an alphabetical listing of 62 companies with full contact information for each.
"When we met with the global device companies, they said they would like to find suppliers in Michigan but there was no easy way to identify specific suppliers in the state – or any state for that matter,” Patterson said. "This directory is must-reading for anyone looking to find a medical device company in Oakland County or in Michigan."
The free directory can be found on the Medical Main Street website at www.medicalmainstreet.org and on the LINKEDIN group for Medical Main Street. Copies can also be obtained sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
