‚ÄčAuburn Hills, Michigan -- The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) announced today in a press release that it is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for shooting a cat with in arrow in the Brandon Township area.

Oakland County Animal Control Division issued a press release (link below) Wednesday, November 10, 2010 seeking the public's help in its investigation to identify the culprit or culprits who shot the cat. The domesticated, shorthaired male was picked up in Brandon Township by animal control based on a tip from a concerned resident.

When the cat was evaluated by veterinary personnel, it was determined the arrow had been in the cat about one week resulting in a bad infection. At that time, it was determined the most humane course was to euthanize the cat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Animal Control Division Administrative Supervisor Joanie Toole at 248-393-3572. For more information about the reward, go to humanesociety.org.
