$11 Flu Shot at the Health Division

​Oakland County, Michigan -- Oakland County Health Division will be offering flu shots for just $11 each. This year the vaccine is a 3-in-1 shot that gives triple defense against three strains of flu virus including H1N1.

A kick-off event to begin offering flu shots is scheduled for Saturday, October 9, 2010, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at the following Health Division offices: 

North Oakland Health Center 
1200 N. Telegraph Road, Building 34 East, Pontiac

South Oakland Health Center
27725 Greenfield Road, Southfield

Flu shots will be available at the Health Division offices in Pontiac, Southfield, and Walled Lake beginning Monday, October 11, 2010. Hours are 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday.

Registration is now open. Pre-registration is encouraged at www.oakgov.com/health or by calling 248-858-7350 for North Oakland, 248-424-7120 for South Oakland, and 248-926-3302 for West Oakland. The registration system will allow clients to select the clinic location, date and time of their choice and will also provide a consent form that must be taken to the clinic where they pre-enrolled. Walk-in clients will be accepted based on availability of appointment times.  

Online payment options include - Visa, Mastercard, Medicare and/or Medicaid.  Cash, Medicare and/or Medicaid are the only available payment options for walk-in clients who do not pre-register online.

"We strive to keep flu shots affordable," stated Kathy Forzley, Manager/Health Officer, Oakland County Health Division. "The Health Division's goal is to keep people well. By keeping the price low, we hope to make the flu shot available to everyone and vaccinate as many Oakland County residents as possible. Each winter, influenza typically takes the lives of 36,000 Americans. An annual flu vaccination helps to reduce a person's chance of getting the flu."
