Pontiac, Michigan -- Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will deliver his 2010 State of the County Address on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. The invitation-only event this year will be in a new venue, the Marriott Hotel at Centerpoint in order to accommodate a growing audience.
As he puts the finishing touches on his speech, Patterson will focus on his accomplishments in 2009 and his plans for the year ahead that will continue to make Oakland County one of the best places to live, work and raise a family. "Oakland County continues to show fiscal and economic leadership in the region," Patterson says. "I plan to talk about how my tough choices in the past add up to a hopeful future."
WWJ-AM (Newsradio 950) will carry Patterson's speech live from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on February 3rd. State of the County Address attendees should arrive by 6:30 p.m. and be seated for the speech before 7:00 p.m. in order to accomodate the live broadcast on WWJ. Civic Center TV 15 in West Bloomfield will record the State of the County address for rebroadcast on February 12th at 8:00 p.m. Check your local municipal cable listings for rebroadcast schedules in your area. The speech will also be available for viewing on Civic Center TV 15's website on Thursday, February 4th at www.CivicCenterTV.com.
For the first time, the State of the County will enter the realm of social media. Those who cannot make it to a radio may monitor highlights of the speech on Twitter by tracking @brookspatterson.
