October 20, 2011 - May 3, 2012:  Adobe PDF IconOrtonville Entrepreneur Explosion (file size 512k)

Are you interested in owning your own business? Want to learn about different businesses in our community? Would you like to start a business, but don’t know how?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, and are between the ages of 16-24, then come check out the Ortonville Entrepreneur Explosion! 

Starting this fall, the Brandon Township Public Library along with Michigan State University Extension 4-H Youth Development and the Ortonville Downtown Development Authority will host nine sessions about starting a small business.  At these sessions, you will learn from local entrepreneurs how to successfully launch and operate your business.

Sessions will run from  6 pm— 9 pm during the following dates:  October 20th, November 10th, December 8th, January 12th, February 2nd, March 1st, March 29th, April 26th, and May 3rd.

Participants completing all nine sessions will have a chance to compete in the Ortonville DDA Business Plan Competition.

February 24-25, 2012: Adobe PDF Icon4-H Veterinary Science Teen & Adult Volunteer Leader Workshop (file size 524k)

Come to Kettunen Center and explore animal systems and learn about animal health for a broad array of animal species.  Come prepared to learn from others, share information and experiences, ask questions and quiz veterinarians about their skills.  You will also participate in hands-on demonstrations that will teach you how to help members recognize healthy, sick, or injured animals.  Meet other youth that have developed outstanding veterinary science projects and gain ideas to help others start their own vet science projects.  Open to adult and teen volunteers ages 13 and older.  Adobe PDF IconClick here for more information and to get registration forms (file size 524k).

 


 

February 25-26, 2012:  Adobe PDF Icon4-H Beef, Sheep & Swine Teen & Adult Volunteer Workshop (file size 520k)

Come to Kettunen Center if you are interested in beef cattle, sheep or swine projects, this workshop is for you.  You'll learn about animal health, management, care and nutrition.  In addition, you can sharpen your livestock judging and evaluation skills.  By sharing ideas and interacting with others, you'll find ways to improve your county 4-H livestock program.  The workshop will also offer ways to enhance your communications and teaching skills, and learn about the many opportunities available for those interested in the beef, sheep and swine industries.  Open to adult and teen volunteers ages 13 and older.  Adobe PDF IconClick here for more information and to get registration forms (file size 520k).
