Serving individuals who cannot use conventional print material


The Oakland County Library for the Visually and Physically Impaired provides Talking Books along with talking book machines to eligible residents in Oakland County.  Loans are made both to individual patrons and to institutions such as nursing homes and senior residences.

To apply for this service:
Fill out a form and return it to the Library for the Visually & Physically Impaired or call the library at 248-858-5050 to request an application.

Who is Eligible:
Materials are available to anyone (children & adults) who is unable to read or use normal printed materials as a result of physical limitations (temporary or permanent).

Cost:
Everything is Free!  The Oakland County Library for the Visually and Physically Impaired is funded jointly by the federal, state, and local government through your tax dollars.

Materials and equipment are mailed free of charge to and from the patrons.
