This website provides free and accurate legal information to assist Michigan residents who need to handle their own simple civil legal matters.

Topics covered on the website include Family Issues, Protection from Abuse, Housing Issues, Consumer Issues, Setting Aside a Conviction, and Information on how to Find a Lawyer, Legal Self-Help Centers, Community Services and Court Information pertinent to your local community. More content is being added to the website all the time, so check back often for more updates!

The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library has been designated a Michigan Legal Self-Help Center by the Solutions on Legal Self-Help Taskforce. Staff can provide free assistance to the public accessing and using the Michigan LegalHelp.org website as well as locating legal information.

Please note that legal advice is not provided on the Michigan Legal Help website and cannot be offered by Library staff.
 
FREE LEGAL AID CLINICS AT THE LIBRARY OFFERED WEEKLY Legal Aid Clinics

The Adams-Pratt Oakland County Law Library hosts three legal aid clinics for the public to come and consult with an attorney or law student for assistance. Listed below are the clinic schedules for the month of March. For an overview of the individual clinic programs, the legal topics they address, and their eligibility requirements, please click on the clinic name:
Family Law Assistance Program
