The Adams – Pratt Oakland County Law Library hosts the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Mobile Law Office one or two Wednesday mornings a month, from 12 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.This free legal assistance clinic is available to low income individuals. For a private consultation with an attorney to help resolve legal issues, attendees must sign in onsite before 2:30 p.m.
The Mobile Law Office will visit the Law Library on:
July 8 & 22 2009
August 5 & 19 2009
September 16 & 30 2009
October 14 & 28 2009
November 11 & 25 2009
December 9 & 23 2009
Participation is on a first come, first served basis. Law professors, their students and volunteer attorneys will answer questions about the law, help citizens to help themselves to resolve their legal issues, and make referrals to other agencies for non-legal matters. All services through the MLO are free of charge.
The MLO itself, a large converted recreational vehicle, often parks in a visible spot near our building. However, when the attorneys visit the Oakland County Law Library, they meet with patrons in the library which is located in the West Wing Extension of the Oakland County courthouse, Building 14E, at 1200 N. Telegraph Road in Pontiac.
This program is made possible through a generous grant from the Oakland County Bar Foundation. For more information, please call the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Mobile Law Office at (313) 596-0262.
