Since the launch of the Wireless Oakland Program in February 2005, Oakland County has worked in support of a strategy to create public-private partnerships to increase the availability and access to high speed broadband infrastructure in Oakland County. Providing residents with access to high speed broadband is critical to the attraction and retention of citizens and businesses that participate in the knowledge economy.

Under the leadership of Oakland County Executive, L. Brooks Patterson the County is still actively seeking partnerships and opportunities that will support the goals of the program.
