When the Schrauger family story became public, several Oakland County businessmen and women joined forces in the attempt to give this grieving family a long-overdue break: we decided to build the Schrauger family a new 1,800 square foot, three bedroom home to replace the previous house that was lost through foreclosure. When built, we will turn it over to the family, mortgage free.
There are several important points to understand as we move forward with this effort known as the "Schrauger Home Project."
1. All donations of services and/or building supplies will be donated through the Community Bible Church in Waterford, Michigan. Using the church allows all donations to be considered a charitable write-off for tax purposes.
2. We have set up what is, in essence, a registry for the goods and services that we will need to have donated in order to build a new home. The registry is divided into two columns:
the column on the left is the service or material that we need donated; and
the column on the right provides space to record the individual and/or company name that has agreed to donate the goods or services.
(We would like to recognize by name all of the donors so we can thank them publicly for their charity and generosity. However, if the donor wishes to remain anonymous, we will honor that request.)
3. Please scan the registry, and if you feel you are in a position to donate some particular goods or services, then contact us and we will make the necessary computer entry to indicate that item is now fulfilled and off the registry.

As soon as we hear from you, we will respond to your offer of a donation, duly record it, and then make arrangements for delivery at a subsequent date.
4. If there are no goods or services available that you feel would be appropriate for you to commit to, certainly cash donations would be welcome to offset incidental expenses as the home is built. Cash donations should be made through the church:
