Winter Awareness week is November 2-8, 2014
At some point, it will snow and temperatures will drop below zero. There will be ice on the roads. High winds will raise the risk of being outdoors from hazardous to life-threatening. Are You Ready For Winter?
Below are some documents to help keep you and your family safe this winter.

Spotlight On

 DECEMBER 14, 2014. 
Residents can register at or via a smart phone or Web-enabled device at Applicants may also call 800-621-3362. TTY users may call 800-462-7585. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Applications need to be submitted by December 14, 2014. The Small Business Administration (SBA) has also extended their registration period until Monday, December 15, 2014.

FEMA has established Disaster Assistance Sites in Oakland County as an option to report damage claims from the August 11, 2014 flood event.

The following locations will be available to Oakland County residents to report damages to FEMA and get information in addition to the 1-800-621-FEMA and the website.
               Recovery Support Sites (RSS) - Open for a limited period of time and can quickly answer questions about disaster assistance programs:

 Mitigation Outreach Teams - Work with various building supply stores to educate people about a wide range of mitigation measures such as installing special valves to prevent sewer backups, elevating furnaces and appliances, and other like topics. The teams are scheduled to appear:
