The "Oakland County in the Civil War" map marked the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War.

The map highlights stories about what the people of Oakland County accomplished during the Civil War, will be available to the public for $20.

"We encourage you to use the map to locate those special places that can connect you with the history that is uniquely Oakland County and to embark on your own exploration of the Civil War," said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. "Our goal is to get this map into every Oakland County classroom."

When you purchase your copy as proceeds benefit the local organization helping to preserve local history. The map makes a unique and affordable holiday gift. Be a champion and share the history of Oakland County with a friend and invest in its future.



 


Purchase can be made at any one of the following finer establishments for $20 per map.

Oakland County One Stop Shop, Oakland County Pioneer & Historical Society, Rochester Hills Museum at Van
Hoosen Farm, Clarkston Community Historical Society and the Birmingham Historical Museum.
