Communicable Disease/HIV Services

Oakland County Health Division Office of Substance Abuse Services (OSAS) provides training for treatment providers in Oakland County about HIV/AIDS, STD's (Sexually Transmitted Diseases), and other communicable disease issues.  The following courses are offered:

A.D.A.P.T.

Goal:
    Participants will explore their own values, attitudes, and beliefs about interacting with GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transsexual) clients.

Goal:  Participants will learn signs, symptoms and treatment for Hepatitis A through E.

Goal:  This workshop provides participants with facts, techniques and resources that will enable them to communicate accurate information to their clients.  Participants will also be taught safer sex alternatives to reduce their clients' risk for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
