Oakland County Health Division Epidemiology Unit
The Health Division's Epidemiology (Epi) Unit promotes public health through disease surveillance, prevention programs, and community education. In addition, it provides communicable disease data collection and conducts outbreak investigations.
Many questions come into the Epidemiology office every day from concerned members of the community. Information is provided about such diverse topics as animal bites and rabies, and vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, mumps, whooping cough and hepatitis A.
