The Oakland County Health Division provides leadership in assuring access to healthcare services for all Oakland County residents.

Dental

Oakland County Dental Services Provides dental services for low income Oakland County residents who have no dental insurance.

Tri-County Dental Health Provides dental referrals for low-income people, Medicaid families, special needs patients and dental emergencies.  248-559-7767

Oakland Community College Dental Hygiene Clinic  (No Website) Provides cleanings and x-rays at a low cost.  Located on Oakland Community College Highland Lakes Campus.  248-942-3260

Donated Dental Services Provides free dental care to approved applicants who are disabled, elderly or medically compromised and who have no way to pay for treatment. Visits are at the offices of volunteer dentists who donate the treatment.  Metro Detroit: 248-489-2204, outside Metro Detroit: 248-489-2206 or Toll Free 800-255-7543.

University of Detroit School of Dentistry Offers dental treatment to individuals accepted into the Student Clinical Program for around half the cost of private dentists. Program accepts most insurance plans including Medicaid. Dental services are also provided for medically compromised patients at the University Health Center in Detroit Receiving Hospital. 313- 494-6700

University of Michigan School of Dentistry Offers lower cost dental treatment to individuals accepted into the School of Dentistry program. The dental  clinics operate on a fee-for-service basis, payable each visit.  Dental insurance claims will be submitted for completed services but patient is responsible for paying whatever insurance does not cover; co-payment is required when service is provided. Medicaid is accepted. 734-763-6933 or Toll Free 1-888-707-2500.

Family Planning

Planned Parenthood  Provides affordable reproductive health care and sexual health information for women, men, and teenagers. Planned Parenthood health centers provide care to Medicaid recipients and participate in local managed health care programs. Services are provided on a sliding fee scale, and no patient is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. Specific services offered at each health center depend on the needs of that community. Toll Free 1-800-230-PLAN

Medical

Oakland County Health Division Child Health Clinic Provides ongoing well care and immunizations for children from birth to school entry. Oakland County families who do not have an HMO or Medicaid are eligible. Children must be enrolled by 2 years of age.

Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital Children's Clinic Provides health care services to children including well visits, immunizations, acute care visits, sick care and sports physicals. 248-334-0024

Mercy Place Clinic  Free outpatient clinic that provides comprehensive health care, treatment and prevention to uninsured individuals who do not qualify for other health care alternatives. Patients must meet financial guidelines.  248-333-0840

Father Pop's Clinic (No Website) Offers blood pressure screening, flu shots and Vitamin B shots as well as physician and chiropractic care. Appointments necessary to meet with a physician and chiropractor. No appointments are needed for vaccines or blood pressure checks. 248-334-2126 (Call ONLY on Mondays after 1:45 PM and Wednesdays after 3:30PM)

Prescription Help

Oakland County Prescription Discount Card Program Provides Oakland County residents with a cost saving prescription discount. 


Partnership for Prescription Assistance Brings together America's pharmaceutical companies, health care providers, advocacy and community groups to help qualifying patients without prescription coverage get the medicines they need. Call 1-888-477-2669.

World Medical Relief Collects and distributes medical equipment and supplies for the medically impoverished, both locally and internationally. 313-866-5333

Lighthouse of Oakland County Prescription Program Responds to families and seniors in crisis situations who have an immediate need for food, prescriptions, transportation, temporary shelter, and case management. 248-920-6000 or 248-920-6100.

Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency

Limited amount of financial aid for medical needs. 248-542-5860 in South Oakland or 248-209-2600 in North or West Oakland.

State of Michigan Insurance Programs

Healthy Kids State-wide program that provides health care insurance for persons under the age of 21 and pregnant women.

Medicaid Program that pays for medical assistance for certain individuals and families with low incomes and resources. It is jointly funded by the Federal and State governments.

Medicare Federal program that primarily serves people over 65, regardless of income; and serves younger disabled people and dialysis patients. Patients pay part of costs through deductibles for hospital and other costs.

MIChild MIChild is a state-wide program to provide health care insurance to previously uninsured children.  Children under 19 years of age and pregnant women, who are not Medicaid eligible, and meet the financial guidelines may be eligible for the program.

Children's Special Health Care Services Program for children and some adults with special health care needs. Family Phone Line 1-800-359-3722 will troubleshoot problems and refer to local programs.

Lions Club Lions Clubs around the world are involved in many sight-related areas in order to help prevent blindness.
