The annual Bid & Brunch Conference targets women and minority business owners. The event shows the small business owner how to add city, state, county and federal government to their client list. Business owners meet with procurement representatives from a variety of municipal, institutional and corporate purchasing departments. Our 10th Anniversary event is scheduled for February 2012. Offered bi-annually, these 10 weekly training sessions are conducted by experienced and certified trainers from our MI-SBTDC partners. Each session combines practical knowledge, coaching sessions, and weekly guest speakers selected from prominent local business leaders. Guest speakers include CPAs, Business Attorneys, Bankers and successful entrepreneurs; graduates of prior programs.

Strategic Needs Assessment offers a better understanding of a company's current condition; a comparison that shows how key people view opportunities and challenges; insights into the real issues facing the company and feedback to help the business owner and team concentrate on priorities and action strategies.
Fiscal Fitness -- After taking the preliminary Fiscal Fitness workshop, business owners are shown how to take their financial statements and turn them into decision-making tools. Participants understand their financial statements and learn how to use them toward profitability and efficiency.
PeerSpectives Roundtables -- Eight to twelve qualified entrepreneurs collaborate to address important business issues. Owners, CEOs and presidents share their management challenges and problem-solving ideas through confidential and structured roundtables. Peer groups discuss ways to overcome obstacles in growth areas such as finance, employee relations, legal compliance, marketing, and advertising. Facilitators are trained by the Ed Lowe Foundation, a non-profit operating foundation committed to providing assistance to business owners seeking rapid growth for their established businesses.
