City of Troy Detailed Planimetric Compilation Project:
Under the Blanket Purchasing Program, the City of Troy has developed a GIS project to update the City's planimetric data that was originally gathered in the mid 1980s. Woolpert, the vendor selected to perform the project, will use the County's 2000 orthophotography project as the basis for this update.
Planimetric features to be included are: buildings and other structures, paved and unpaved roads, paved and unpaved drives, parking lots, alleys, railroads, fences and guardrails, vegetation, catch basins, curb inlets, dams and spillways, major ditches, poles, towers, large commercial signs, billboards, airfield runways and taxiways.
The final planimetric data will be furnished in ESRI's 3D Shapefile, ArcInfo Coverage and Microstation's DGN formats. All digital data sets will be delivered in Michigan State Plane South Zone Coordinate System, using the North American Datum (NAD83 and NAVD88). The grid unit of measure will be international feet.
PlanSight CVTSight GIS Application:
Under the Blanket Purchasing Program, the Oakland County GIS Utility has worked with several cities, villages, and townships (CVTs) and PlanSight, LLC. to develop an easy to use GIS application called CVTSight LTTM v. 1.0. CVTSight LTTM v. 1.0 provides a series of commonly used GIS functions in an easy to use interface. It also provides several more robust features like: geographic buffer and mailing label generation, overlays and standard cartographic output. The application has been customized to work in CVTs within Oakland County and can access the most currently available GIS and data warehouse information distributed by the GIS Utility. As a part of the Program, the GIS Utility has absorbed the cost of the customized work and the application can now be deployed in any CVT for a nominal cost.
City of Birmingham Planimetric Data Compilation: Under the Blanket Purchasing Program, the City of Birmingham has initiated a GIS project to capture limited planimetric data. Woolpert, the vendor selected to perform the project, will use the County's 2000 orthophotography project as the basis for this project.
Planimetric features to be included are: buildings and other structures, paved and unpaved roads, paved and unpaved drives, parking lots, alleys, railroads, vegetation, poles, towers, large commercial signs and billboards.
The final planimetric data will be furnished in ESRI's 3D Shapefile, ArcInfo Coverage and Microstation's DGN formats. All digital data sets will be delivered in Michigan State Plane South Zone Coordinate System, using the North American Datum (NAD83\86 and NAVD88). The grid unit of measure will be international feet.
City of Pontiac GIS Implementation Plan:
Under the Blanket Purchasing Program, the City of Pontiac has initiated a GIS project to develop a citywide GIS Implementation Plan. Woolpert and OHM, the vendors selected to perform this project, will prepare a GIS Implementation Plan that will outline software, hardware, networking, digital data issues, data conversion and data sharing opportunities in the City. The Plan will also include a list of GIS and Internet applications, workforce needs, recommended tasks, and a schedule with sequenced tasks. A high-level executive summary will also be provided. Once completed, the City of Pontiac's GIS Implementation Plan will be posted on the County's GIS Blanket Purchasing.
