Application Services offers 2 courses:

- Fundamentals of GIS

If you are a representative from a County agency or a local unit of government and want to register for the either course, please contact Information Technology at 248.858.0828. You can also inquire about other IT trainings offered by the County at this number.

How do I find out what GIS data is available?
Use this metadata document ( file size 4.3 MB; October, 2006) to find out what data Oakland County distributes. County departments and Oakland County local units of government may be able to obtain additional data.

How do I get a copy of GIS data?
The response is two-fold. If you are a representative from a local unit of government and are using the information on behalf of that government agency, please contact Anita Campbell at campbella@oakgov.com or call 248.858.2388. If you are a non-governmental agency, please contact the Oakland County One Stop Shop at 248.858.0720.

How do I get Data Warehouse data?
Cities, villages, and townships no longer receive quarterly snapshots of the Data Warehouse data. The data can instead be downloaded in a tab-delimited format on a weekly basis. Detailed directions are available here (, file size 345 k).
To obtain a username and password to perform the download, please contact the IT Service Center at servicecenter@oakgov.com or 248.858.8812.

How do I receive GIS technical support or report a data problem?
If you are a representative from a local unit of government and are using GIS on behalf of that government agency, please contact the Oakland County Information Technology Service Center at 248.858.8812 or by email at servicecenter@oakgov.com.
Register Now - Register for access to the Oakland County Information Technologys (OCIT) new Online Service Center system, which allows you to check the status of a request for assistance from OCIT.
In order to access the online system, Oakland County City, Village, and Township (CVT) employees may register for a username and password in the Service Center system. The user name will be the CVT employees email address. Once the CVT employee has been notified that the requested Service Center system account has been activated, the CVT employee can launch the Service Center system.

Once registered, click here to access the Service Center.
