Referee Hearings (Divorce)

Under current law, the Friend of the Court may conduct referee hearings on all requests for relief referred to the referee by the judge, except those pertaining to an increase or decrease in spousal support (alimony).

Following the hearing by the referee, a recommended order will become a court order unless a party files timely objections and schedules a judicial hearing with the court, or unless the judge orders a hearing.
