What is eGovernment?
eGovernment is a purposeful response to a new information economy. It is a way to facilitate interaction and transactions between government and the entities it serves.
eGovernment uses Internet-enabled and other electronic operations and technology to optimize government service delivery with constituent participation and appropriate governance.
Service delivery remains the primary focus of eGovernment, particularly in these early stages of development -- which includes the delivery of services internally to:
-
citizens
-
businesses
-
employees
-
other governments
By providing eGovernment, Oakland County is well on its way to fulfilling its goal to be and enable a digital community that is well advanced in the adoption and integration of technology into daily life at home, work, school and play.
