MotorCities National Heritage Area was established by an Act of Congress in 1998. It is an affiliate of the National Park Service dedicated to preserving, interpreting and promoting the automotive and labor heritage of Michigan. As MotorCities approaches its tenth year of operation, the best is clearly yet to come under the direction of its third full-time Executive Director, Gary R. Familian. “We are extremely fortunate to have Gary at our helm” says MotorCities’ President, Christian Overland. “He is a highly successful entrepreneur who, among other things, graciously shares his expertise and is intent on making MotorCities sustainable with a diverse portfolio of products and funding.”
Be sure to attend the first MotorCities Summit and find out how you can get involved. It will be held on Saturday, May 10 from 9 until noon at the Dearborn Inn. This is your opportunity to become familiar with the MotorCities’ Team and the exciting programming now underway.
