Fire & Ice Fest a Sizzling Success!
Good weather, good food and good family fun – definitely a  memorable weekend. The Fire & Ice Fest, which ran January 25-26 in downtown Rochester, was just the first of a number of initiatives L. Brooks Patterson announced for 2008. “According to all the reports, the event was an unrivaled success and we intend to bring it back next year bigger and better,” the Oakland County Executive stated in his State of the County Address on February 7.
Attendance was estimated to be around 20,000, with 400 people braving the extreme evening temperatures to attend the opening ceremonies on Friday evening and 1,000 attending the closing ceremonies on Saturday. Both evenings included fireworks and entertainment.
Mark your calendars – next year’s Fire & Ice Fest will be held January 23-24, 2009.
