Behr America Completes Headquarters in Troy

Behr America, a leading global supplier of automotive engine-cooling and air-conditioning systems, has completed a new $ Behr's new facility 8.5-million, three-story office building on its North America corporate campus in Troy. The second major expansion at Behr’s Troy location in three years, the 69,000-square-foot building was constructed on a 2.3 acre site and will house 270 employees.

“The completion of this Troy campus extension underlines our commitment to Michigan and to our North American-based customers,” said Frank Mueller, president and CEO of Behr America.

The new facility will include a customer interaction meeting and exhibit area and additional testing lab space. Designed by Birmingham’s Landry-Newman architectural firm, the addition more than doubles the overall size of the five-year-old North American headquarters and technical center. "Oakland County has long valued our relationship with Behr and we are thrilled to see the company thrive in Troy," said Maureen Krauss, Deputy Director of Economic Development & Community Affairs for Oakland County. Behr America has nearly 3,000 employees at facilities in Troy; Dayton Ohio; Charleston S.C.; Fort Worth, Texas and Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. According to Sadikovic, the City of Troy is home to Behr’s North American headquarters and technical center, because of its “ideal position to our three major customers, Chrysler, General motors and Ford, and the overall attractiveness of the Troy location for our employees.”
