To achieve its goal of helping small and mid-sized companies create or expand their exporting activities, the Automation Alley International Business Center will host a trade mission to India October 10-20.
Participants will meet with prospective agents, distributors and other business partners in the markets of New Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, and Channai. While in India, participants will attend receptions hosted by the U.S. Embassy and consulate generals and will tour the world-class facilities of Infosys Technologies, Tata, and Wipro.
"With assistance from Automation Alley's International Business Center, we were able to secure a $100,000 manufacturing contract in India, with more business on the way," said Dan Kocks, president of Enterprise Automotive Systems.
Automation Alley trade missions include the U.S. Department of Commerce's Gold Key Service, which provides pre-screened and pre-qualified meetings based on each individual company's goals and objectives. The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India and the Confederation of Indian Industries will also assist with the matchmaking meetings and share their advice on how to successfully do business in India. In addition, IBC staff and U.S. Department of Commerce staff work closely to provide companies assistance before, during and after each trade mission.
Additional trade mission benefits include industry and business culture seminars; translation services; debriefing meetings; and on-site support from Alley staff and U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Specialists. After the mission, additional exporting counseling is also available.
Past trade missions to China, Germany and Mexico have resulted in $23 million in contracts for the region's participating companies.
