Oakland County is more than just a great place to live and work; it is also a great place to play. Our 910-square miles are filled with indoor and outdoor winter recreational and cultural activities for all ages and interests.
Outdoor enthusiasts can choose from 13 county parks, 10 state parks/recreation areas, 3 Metroparks and several municipal parks across the county. Recreational activities include cross-country skiing, hiking, ice skating, sledding and ice fishing. In addition, three well-groomed resorts offer downhill skiing and snowboarding throughout the area.
Arts and cultural offerings include several museums, theaters, symphonies and galleries. Iconic landmarks such as the Detroit Zoo, Meadowbrook Hall and Cranbrook House provide entertainment for all ages.
If shopping therapy is what you need, Oakland County is home to an extensive collection of malls, shopping centers and marketplaces ranging from unique downtown shops to multiple-floor malls with premier anchor stores.
