November 15 - America Recycles Day

America Recycles Day is a national awareness campaign held  annually on November 15. Celebrating its 11th year, this all volunteer event is aimed to encourage Americans to recycle and purchase recycled goods. Visit the national website at www.nrc-recycle.org/americarecycles.aspx. While there you can fill out a pledge card committing to recycle more and purchase more recycled content products, and check out their “Conversionator,” a tool that calculates the impact of recycling.

Oakland County’s Waste Resource Management division would like to remind you that recycling begins at home. Over the years, individual recycling options continue to improve. Most communities in Oakland County offer curbside or drop-off recycling programs for residents. To find out what programs are available in your community, contact your city, village or township office for information.
