Current Focus

Ms. Spanos is a Senior Business Development Representative for Oakland County Planning & Economic Development.   Focusing on emerging technology companies, Ms. Spanos works with companies from around the world wishing to expand or relocate into Southeast Michigan by assisting them with such services as site location, financing (traditional & non-traditional), workforce development, university collaborations, tax incentives, access to venture capital, as well as other  activities. Her main areas of focus include the Biotechnology and Medical Devices Sectors.  Ms. Spanos also works with Michigan universities to match technologies with entrepreneurs.  She is also responsible for assisting European companies that are seeking to locate or expand in North America.

Professional Background

Prior to joining Oakland County Planning & Economic Development, Ms. Spanos lead the Public Relations & Advertising Department at the Society of Manufacturing Engineers' World Headquarters. She's an active member of the International Economic Development Council, the Michigan Economic Developers Association, MichBio (the state's biotech association), and the Michigan Small Tech Association (MiSTA).

Education

Ms. Spanos graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
